After an year gap, Yu comes with new smartphone

Micromax's Yu sub-brand after almost a year long of silence has now come alive with a cryptic tweet on micro-blogging site hinting at the arrival of new smartphone. The brand's previous smartphone was the Yu Yureka 2 which launched in India in September last year.

Yu hints that the new smartphone might be called Yu Ace but tht's just a speculation for now, and the company is yet to announce the details. The company might soon roll out new tweets as the time progresses. Likewise Yu's new smartphone could also be mid-range priced, going by the company's typical approach.

Launched in the year 2014, Micromax's online sub-brand Yu's first handset was Yu Yureka. Later the company unveiled Yu Yureka 2 in September last year in Indian markets. With a price tag around Rs 12,000, the phone's highlights included metal body, 5.5-inch full-HD display, 2.5D glass, a Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint sensor, a 3,930mAh battery, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
