Kirin 980 processor is faster than Apple's A12 Bionic, Huawei claims

At IFA 2018, Huawei has announced that its latest devices Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro to be launched on October 16 will be equipped with latest flagship SoC Kirin 980.

Now Huawei has held an event in Dubai where its company claims that the SoC Kirin 980 could beat Apple's A12 Bionic in terms of performance. Technically it was Huwaei that has first introduced the 7nm chipset, but Apple's A12 Bionic reached the market with the iPhone XS after September launch.

Despite Apple claiming that the A12 as “the smartest, most powerful” smartphone chip, it's interesting how Huawei says its Kirin 980 chipset will outperform the A12 Bionic chip equipped in new iPhone series.

The reason for Huawei respresntatives claiming that the Kirin 980 processor is faster than Apple's A12 Bionic is due to its three-year development and the focus on Power and Efficiency, Intelligence, and Connectivity. Also the amount of transistors in Kirin 980 is 6.9 billion, which is the same in case of A12 Bionic.

The Kirin 980 processor is shaping up as one of the best processors and it is certainly interesting to compare it with the superior Apple's A12 Bionic.
