OnePlus 6T Launch Date Changed; Avoids Clash with Apple

OnePlus had for the big event of the global launch of OnePlus 6T smartphone on the announced date October 30 in New York earlier this month, Apple has then announced its event on the exact same date and city.

OnePlus had then opted to reschedule its event to a day ahead, on October 29 in NYC. The company's CEO Pete Lau, shared a long post on its forums. Precisely it states that "we didn't want Apple to steal our thunder". The Note also reads, "If we chose to stick to our original timeline, launching the OnePlus 6T on October 30, we would be overshadowed by Apple. We had decided to move the OnePlus 6T Launch Event in New York City to October 29."

OnePlus 6T is certainly the Chinese phone maker's most interesting smartphone with the key features including an in-display fingerprint scanner, edge-to-edge display, 6.4in AMOLED screen, and it's the first flagship device to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in favour of audio over USB-C. The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip with a max clockspeed of 2.2GHz, and runs on the latest Google's Android 9.0 Pie operating system.

The device will be available in three storage variants, including the 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB and 256GB. The base model is likely to be priced Rs 37,999 (around £395),though we are yet to know other variants prices.
