Nokia 8.1 Spotted on ARCore Supported Devices List; Launch soon

Nokia 8.1 is listed among supported devices for Google ARCore, and the launch seems imminent. However, HMD Global is yet to announce the details of this new flagship device. The revelation comes after recent reports of  Nokia X7 aka Nokia 8.1 debut globally surfaced online.

A Geekbench listing of the Nokia 8.1 implied on the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is likely to run Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. Nokia 8.1 is one among upcoming smartphones which is backed by Google's ARCore to deliver advanced augmented reality (AR) experiences.

However the list of ARCore Supported Devices hasn't revealed any specifications of the Nokia 8.1, though the Geekbench listing that surfaced online previous week emphasized on the Snapdragon 710 and 4GB of RAM on the new Nokia phone.

Nokia X7 which was unveiled in China previous month was planned to be launched globally with the name Nokia 7.1 Plus. But HMD Global's Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas had planned to launch new smartphone to global markets as the Nokia 8.1.

Nokia 8.1 will be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC unlike the premium Nokia 8 or Nokia 8 Sirocco powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC. But the Nokia 8.1 is aimed at the budget competitors from Samsung and Xiaomi which are currently dominating mid-range smartphone market.
