Samsung mid-range smartphones to get ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners

Samsung is rumored to be adopting the new ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner in its upcoming Galaxy S10, and now reports suggest that the South Korean giant as a part of promotional strategy, is planning to make similar implementations to mid-range smartphones.   

Smartphone makers are looking for adopting to new rage In-display fingerprint scanners due to the popularity, as well as it brings back the fingerprint scanner to the front without compromising on the big screens.

Samsung is the new company to join the bandwagon, and reports reveal that both Qualcomm and MediaTek are leading the way when it comes to in-display implementations. But Samsung chose to stick to Qualcomm due to the higher standard of quality. Samsung has already ordered for Qualcomm’s ultrasonic scanners, and the first shipments will arrive by end 2018 and 2019 beginning, so that the company could implement them in Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Samsung mid-range smartphones.

Samsung is looking to  implement the more advanced ultrasonic solution across its range to mid-range devices, which is a big deal. It is possible that the Samsung shipments may not arrive until early 2019, and the  in-display fingerprint sensors will join the Galaxy S10 at MWC 2019 in February ahead of a release the following month.
