Huawei plans to launch quad-camera with 10x Zoom, foldable phones in 2019

Walter Ji, President of Consumer Business Group in Europe for Huawei in his recent interview had teased some of the plans of their company's flagship devices launching in 2019. These are majorly slotted in camera department where the recent flagship lineups, the P20 and the Mate 20 excelled.

Huawei will be launching the foldable and 5G-capable smartphones in H1 2019, and meanwhile it's apparently working on the quad camera setup and up to 10x optical zoom. Samsung is the first company to launch quad-camera setup smartphone with the recent Galaxy A9 (2018). Walter Ji in the interview informed that one camera sensor on the next flagship smartphone will offer 10x optical zoom.

To set itself apart from the rivals, Huawei's present  P20 Pro offers 3x optical zoom or up to 5x digital zoom without quality loss, and the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro are the only smartphones in the world to support 3x optical zoom.

The Chinese Giant isn't looking forward in providing Android Go devices too. It has looked into the option but thinks its biggest markets won't be satisfied with the user experience, and its strong preference is the EMUI.

The executive also confirmed on the launch on foldable smartphone in 2019, while it is worth mentioning that Samsung has recently teased its first ever foldable smartphone which the company plans to officially launch in the first half of 2019. Huawei hasnt revealed much of the details of its foldable phone, but it is expected to be 5G enabled device.
