MediaTek teases upcoming Helio P90 SoC

Realme has unveiled the Realme U1, which is the first smartphone to be equipped with the MediaTek's Helio P70 chipset. Now MediaTek seems to be working on the next premier mid-range SoC, which is referred as the Helio P90.

The company has begun teasing the chip on its microblogging page claiming that Helio P90 will pack "groundbreaking AI", while also being powerful and efficient. "Coming Soon! The MediaTek Helio P90. Powerful. Efficient. Groundbreaking AI. #MediaTekHelioP90 #thischipchangeseverything," the twitter account page read.

MediaTek seems to be now focussing on the Helio P90 rather than the P80, that will provide performance and features which will be accompanied with the launch of the new SoC. Helio P90 SoC will compete with the Huawei’s Kirin 980 or the upcoming Snapdragon 8150. So, it is likely to be manufactured on a better process than TSMC’s 12nm architecture.

Just a day after the Qualcomm’s upcoming event was announced, MediaTek has teased the Helio P90. The Helio P90 processor will be announced introduced at an event in Shenzhen, China on December 13.
