Moto Z4 with codename Odin to support 5G Moto Mod

Lenovo will continue to hang on to the Moto Mods accessories for the next generation flagship device Moto Z4. Sources from XDA-Developers report that the Smartphone is codenamed “Odin” and it is in the early stages of development.

For now, the Motorola Z4 is speculated to feature Snapdragon 8150, Qualcomm’s future Snapdragon 855 chipset and arrives with Android Pie, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage. The smartphone will be supporting the 5G Moto Mod, which will be equipped with the Snapdragon X50 modem.

Qualcomm earlier announced that it will be making a separate 5G (perhaps the Snapdragon 8180?) and 4G versions of the Snapdragon 855. Looks like Motorola will be keeping around Moto Mods for their design for at least the coming year, and the 5G Moto Mod design was confirmed to the media in July.

Sources also reveal that the company is working on authentication for an in-display fingerprint sensor. Moto Z4 will be identical to Moto Z3 although the latter Z3 was disappointing with its use of the top chip Snapdragon 845 SoC. Moto Z4 will run Android 9 Pie and will have at least 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. We'll be hearing more about Moto Z4 in the coming days. Stay glued for more updates.
